Configuration
Configure Assumer per project with an assumer.json file: permissions, MCP servers and more. Commit it so your whole team shares the same setup.
Assumer reads project settings from an assumer.json (or assumer.jsonc, which allows comments) file at the root of your project. Project files and folders specific to Assumer live in .assumer/.
What you can configure
- Permissions: allow, ask or deny per tool and per command. See Permissions.
- MCP servers: local and remote tool servers. See MCP servers.
- Agents: custom agents created with
assumer agent create. See Agents.
Example
{
// Safe defaults for this repository
"permission": {
"edit": "ask",
"bash": { "npm test*": "allow", "*": "ask" }
},
"mcp": {
"playwright": { "type": "local", "command": ["npx", "-y", "@playwright/mcp@latest"] }
}
}
Share it with your team
Commit assumer.json, your Assumer.md rules file and any custom agents. Everyone who opens the project gets the same rules and tools. Teammates run assumer trust once to allow the project configuration.
