Assumer Prompt Guide

Prompt Guide

Give Assumer context, name the files involved, state your constraints, and ask for a plan first with the plan agent. Put rules that apply to every task in Assumer.md

Prompt Example

Add a password reset flow to the existing login in this Next.js app.

Context: auth lives in src/lib/auth.ts and the login page is src/app/(auth)/login/page.tsx.

Constraints: do not change the session format and do not add new dependencies.

Steps:

  • Read src/lib/auth.ts and the login page first
  • Add a /forgot-password page and an API route
  • Reuse the existing mailer in src/lib/mail.ts
  • Store reset tokens with a 30-minute expiry
  • Add tests next to the existing auth tests
  • Run pnpm test and fix any failures
  • Follow the conventions in Assumer.md

Start in the plan agent (press Tab) and show me the plan before editing any files.

Then switch to build, make the change, and summarise the diff.
