Formatters
Assumer runs your project's formatter on every file it edits, with Prettier, Biome, gofmt, Ruff, rustfmt, clang-format and many more, so diffs match your style.
After the agent edits a file, Assumer formats it with the formatter your project already uses. The diff you review contains real changes, not whitespace noise.
Supported formatters
| Language | Formatters |
|---|---|
| JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, HTML, Markdown | Prettier, Biome |
| Python | Ruff, uv |
| Go | gofmt |
| Rust | rustfmt |
| C, C++ | clang-format |
| Elixir | mix format |
| Kotlin | ktlint |
| Zig, Gleam, Dart | zig fmt, gleam format, dart format |
| Ruby | RuboCop, Standard |
| Shell | shfmt |
| Terraform | terraform fmt |
| OCaml, Nix, R, LaTeX | ocamlformat, nixfmt, air, latexindent |
A formatter runs only when it’s available in your project, for example when Prettier is in your package.json or Ruff is configured for your Python project.
Tip
Keep the formatter configuration (.prettierrc, biome.json, ruff.toml and so on) committed in the repository so the agent and your team format the same way.
